recording of The Last Entry by William Clark Russell.
Read in English by Lee Smalley
This is a sea-faring novel set in 1837. A wealthy former seaman from London and his daughter, who is engaged to be married, set sail on his newly restored schooner, headed for the equator for the purpose of restoring his health. Also aboard are a captain and crew. Soon, distractions, diversions, discontent and much more occur. William Clark Russell (1844–1911) was an English writer best known for his nautical novels. ~ Lee Smalley

Thank You Lee Smalley
I listen to a wide variety of books, depending upon mood for the most part. However, I have never felt much interest in shipboard adventures. I'm not even sure why I downloaded Last Entry. All I can say, I definitely was not disappointed.
Lee Smalley is an excellent reader. I thoroughly enjoyed his style.
The descriptions of the boats and of life at sea brought me into a world I know practically nothing about. This surprised me most of all, the author's ability to make the reader feel present, aboard ship, during the 1830s.
